多项研究已证明每日10克的水解胶原蛋白摄入量为期4至24周可以增加骨质的密度。研究表明,当水解胶原蛋白的代谢产物在细胞外基质内,成骨细胞,一个负责形成骨骼的细胞将会被刺激而触发骨骼的形成。

Oesser et. al. (1999) 的实验证明超过95%的口服14C 标记的水解胶原蛋白会被吸收。他亦表明摄入后的十二个小时内是关键时刻因为水解胶原蛋白会累积在软骨内,而它的发射性水平与对照组相比之下高出两倍(图一)。口服后的水解胶原蛋白将会被肠内吸收,然后通过肠壁,抵达骨骼或软骨组织,因而刺激软骨或骨骼的合成。

Bone-M™ adalah produk penjagaan kesihatan atas gabungan bahan semulajadi dan bioteknologi. Bahan-bahan mentahnya terdiri daripada hidrolisat kolagen dari Jerman yang mempunyai teknologi tinggi dalam proses pengekstrakan dan penguraian, ekstrak manggis yang dikawal ketat proses penuaian, pemprosesan dan pengekstrakannya, probiotik antiradang, inulin, kalsium laktat, vitamin C, serbuk manga dan Stevia.
 
Jisim tulang akan meningkat beransur-ansur semasa proses pertumbuhan, tetapi kualiti tulang akan menurun pada pertengahan umur, biasanya adalah selepas umur 30 tahun. Setiap tahun, kira-kira 15% tulang dewasa akan bertumbuh semula, maka kadar penyerapan dan pembentukan tulang yang tidak sekata akan menyebabkan kualiti tulang semakin menurun dan mengakibatkan osteoporosis. Dalam tubuh manusia, terdapat 90% protein rawan merupakan kolagen, manakala 80% protein tulang, tendon, otot dan 70% protein kulit adalah kolagen. Kajian Oesser et. al. (1999) telah membuktikan bahawa lebih daripada 95% hidrolisat kolagen yang telah dilabelkan dengan 14C dan diambil melalui pemakanan akan diserap. Beliau juga menunjukkan bahawa dalam masa 12 jam selepas pengambilan adalah saat yang paling kritikal kerana hidrolisat kolagen akan berkumpul di dalam tulang rawan dan tahap aktivitinya akan meningkat sebanyak dua kali ganda jika berbanding dengan kumpulan kawalan (Rajah 1). Hidrolisat kolagen yang dimakan akan diserap oleh usus dan kemudian melalui dinding usus dan sampai ke tulang atau tisu rawan, seterusnya merangsang pembentukan rawan atau tulang.
 
Selain daripada hidrolisat kolagen, Bone-M™ turut mengandungi ekstrak manggis. Proses pengekstrakan manggis mempunyai kawalan kualiti yang ketat dan terjamin, dari pengurusan lading sampai proses penuaian juga dilakukan di bawah kawalan yang profesional. Proses pengekstrakan manggis telah dilakukan dengan menggunakan proses pengekstrakan yang berteknologi tinggi dan pengendalian juruteknik yang terlatih, dan juga cara pengekstrakan yang semulajadi untuk memperolehi intipati ekstrak buah manggis dan mengeringkannya menjadi serbuk ekstrak manggis.

Human bone density will increased gradually along the growing process. However, study shows the bone density start to deteriorate from age of 30. Each year, 15% of bone density will be regenerate in a healthy body. Therefore, irregular rate of calcium absorption can lead to bone density formation decreased and caused the osteoporosis. Collagen is an essential nutrient for body building, it composes 90% of cartilage protein, 80% of bones and muscles protein and 70% of human skin protein is actually collagen type protein as well. Oesser et al (1999) investigate and prove that more than 95% of the oral administration of 14C-labeled hydrolyzed collagen will be absorbed. He also showed that within twelve hours after the intake is a critical moment because the hydrolyzed collagen will accumulate in the cartilage, and its emission level with the control group contrast more than twice (Figure 1). After oral administration of hydrolyzed collagen will be absorbed by the intestines, and then through the intestinal wall and reach the bone or cartilage tissue, in turn, stimulates the synthesis of cartilage or bone.

Bone-M™ contains high amount of hydrolyzed collagen and it is enriched with mangosteen skin extract. The mangosteen skin is carefully monitored and strictly controlled from farm to tertiary processing; the quality of the skin extract is always excellent and consistent. The advanced biotechnology extraction process is used to obtain the skin extract; the whole extraction process is conducted by the extraction professionals.

In recent year, the mangosteen becomes widely popular around the world due to its high nutritional value. Up to now, thousand of research studies have been done on it from all over the world. Study has revealed mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana) contains high amount of xanthones, especially its skin. Base on the scientific report, xanthones are effective for anti-inflammation, anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial, anti-histamine, prevent diarrhea and cancer. There are two types of cyclooxygenase; which are COX-1 and COX-2. This two component have play an important role during the inflammation process; they mmanipulate the rate of prostaglandin synthase. γ-mangostin is the derivative from xanthones, it is being proved to effectively stop the activity of COX to reduce the inflammation rate.

Other than anti-inflammation property, xanthones also possess the anti-oxidant properties. Table 1 show that mangosteen extract contain 77.8% of anti-oxidant activity.

Bone-M™ also enriched with anti-inflammatory probiotic- Lactobacillus reuteri. Studies have proved this probiotic able to increase the human *IL-10, and therefore can be more efficient in treating joint pain issue. However, not all the probiotic can trigger the *IL-10. Figure 3 has shown only Lactobacillus reuteri possess this function.

Bone-M™ is added with inulin as a prebiotic and calcium lactate as calcium source. The inulin can improve the digestive system and enhance the absorption of calcium and bone mineralization process. During the bone mass regeneration process, the calcium lactate is an important nutrient to speed up the process. Bone-M™ also contains the vitamin C and mango powder which responsible for collagen and as anti-oxidant source. Furthermore, the mango powder is rich in phytochemicals and an excellent source of carotenes, vitamin C and copper. The sweetness for the Bone-M™ is from stevia extract.
